Anthropic president Daniela Amodei said people should not use AI for romantic partners, calling it “a terrible use of AI” in a prerecorded interview with Arianna Huffington for Friday’s Think Health conference, according to Thibault Spirlet at Business Insider. Amodei said AI relationships would push people even further apart after social media already replaced much face-to-face contact, and that Claude can never be anyone’s manager, therapist or partner. She said she’d rather see AI take over repetitive tasks so people have more time for friends, family and partners, pointing to doctors who could spend more time with patients.
