Amazon is spending upward of 300 million euros on its Pforzheim logistics center in southwestern Germany, aiming to take the site from over 1,000 workers to double that by the end of 2029. The renovation shifts the warehouse away from medium-sized goods such as diaper packs and game consoles toward smaller items, anything from a USB stick to an iron, with room for around 20 million units. Amazon is also buying hundreds of transport robots that carry mobile shelving to workers, and says every existing job stays through the construction period.
