Amazon has grown Shop Direct, its program for listing products sold on other websites, to 250 million listings, about 2.5 times its March total, according to Catherine Perloff at The Information. Amazon is also displaying those products more prominently and has added Warby Parker and Alo Yoga, which could give customers less reason to use outside agents like Meta’s Muse that shop across retailers. Merchants are included unless they opt out, and 11 merchants and agency staff said they get no warning when products appear, see few sales from them, and sometimes find wrong details or links to unauthorized resellers. Amazon says tens of millions of shoppers have found products through Shop Direct and that it’s building reporting so brands can track the traffic.
