The RealReal hired Alexis Hoopes, eBay’s former VP and global head of fashion, as chief merchandising officer, where she’ll run merchandising strategy and work on growing its luxury assortment. Hoopes spent two years at eBay expanding Authenticity Guarantee to more categories and countries and finding more places to source luxury goods, after nearly 15 years at Nordstrom and a run as Mattel’s SVP of ecommerce. Her move confirms she has left eBay, which hired back former executive Renee Paradise in August to run its entire $10B fashion business, including luxury.
