Google Maps published its first Fan-Favorite Dining Lists, which rank restaurants in 10 cities including New York, London, Tokyo, and Melbourne using a year of user reviews, ratings, and direction requests. Each city’s list splits into essential stops for food, drinks, or treats, picks for occasions like celebrations or cheap eats, and the dishes that come up most in reviews. Google says froyo mentions in New York reviews rose 320% year over year and Seattle’s dosa mentions rose 136%. The lists join other Maps tools for steering diners to restaurants, including Ask Google, the app’s AI assistant, which can already place delivery orders through Uber Eats, Toast, and Square.
