Amazon’s grocery chief and Whole Foods CEO Jason Buechel said groceries, which brought Amazon more than $150 billion in sales last year, will turn it from the “everything store” into the “everyday store” by getting customers to shop more often across the whole site, according to Diane Brady at Fortune. Buechel said Amazon’s same-day grocery push is aiming for dependable delivery times rather than the fastest possible drop-off. He also conceded that Amazon was a step ahead of what shoppers wanted with its checkout-free Amazon Go stores and the palm-scan payments it offered at Whole Foods, both of which it has since dropped as it shifts its focus to same-day grocery delivery.
