3M issued Amazon warrants to buy up to about 3.2 million 3M shares over seven years at $164.89 each, with vesting tied to how much Amazon spends on 3M’s optical connectors and related data center gear. 3M CEO Bill Brown said a set number of those shares vest once Amazon’s purchases reach $6 billion. The deal centers on 3M’s expanded beam optical ferrules, connectors that 3M says link servers in seconds instead of minutes and can cut six months from a data center build. 3M expects sales of those products to reach $80 million to $100 million next year, up from about $40 million in 2026, and it raised its full-year earnings forecast to as much as $9.15 a share. Amazon struck a similar warrant deal with Generac in September.
