Walmart began testing advertisements within its AI shopping assistant Sparky to allow sponsored prompts to appear when users searched for products. The retailer also introduced a beta program for its advertiser-focused AI tool Marty to provide automated recommendations for bidding and keywords in sponsored search campaigns. Executives stated that the new features aimed to differentiate the platform through scale and automation while competing directly with Amazon’s Rufus.
