Walmart adds marketplace data to Scintilla next year, letting suppliers see their wholesale and marketplace sales in one place

Walmart will open up marketplace data inside Scintilla, its data platform for suppliers, starting next year, according to Mitchell Parton at Modern Retail. Brands that sell to Walmart wholesale and also run their own marketplace listings have had to track the two halves of their Walmart.com business separately, and the update puts both in one view. Sellers who only sell on the marketplace still can’t use Scintilla, and a spokesperson said Walmart isn’t planning to open it to them. The platform is also getting dashboards that show sales, customer behavior, and inventory together, plus custom alerts. Its Marty AI assistant, which now explains metrics and summarizes reports, will start recommending fixes, such as why shoppers are lapsing and what to change in advertising or the supply chain.
