USPS pushed back its hazardous materials fees for commercial return labels to February 1, 2027, buying merchants and platforms several more months, according to Liz Morton at Value Added Resource. The reprieve applies to USPS Returns, meaning prepaid labels a retailer, marketplace, or returns vendor issues and pays for, so a Ground Advantage label a shopper buys on their own and slaps on a return gets no such break. Outbound parcels have been paying since July 12, at $7.50 per hazmat shipment on Priority and Priority Express, nothing on the ground products for now, and $50 whenever the declaration or markings don't line up. Poshmark is eating $45 of that $50 on flagged outbound seller packages from August 1, leaving sellers $5, but returns are excluded.
