US online spending over the November and December holiday season is expected to rise 6.7% to a record $275.1 billion, according to Adobe. Adobe expects many shoppers to use the discounts to load up on necessities instead of gifts, with Cyber Week sales of clothing basics projected to run 210% above September’s average and personal hygiene products 150% above. Cyber Monday should set a new single-day record at $15.1 billion, though Black Friday is growing faster, up 9.2% to $12.9 billion. Buy now, pay later spending is forecast to climb 6.6% to $21.3 billion for the season, and Cyber Monday will be its biggest day at $1.09 billion.
