U.K.’s CMA opens investigation into Adobe over hidden cancellation fees

by | Mar 19, 2026 | E-commerce News

Britain's Competition and Markets Authority has launched an investigation into Adobe to determine whether the company misled customers by failing to clearly disclose early cancellation fees before purchase. The probe comes less than a week after Adobe reached a $150M settlement with the U.S. government over similar allegations that it concealed hefty termination fees and made subscriptions difficult to cancel. The CMA has not yet reached any conclusions, but the investigation marks the ninth case brought under its new direct consumer enforcement powers, which allow it to bypass the courts, impose fines, and secure consumer redress directly.
