Sonilo, an AI startup founded by former TikTok AI and music leaders, raised $11M in a round led by B Capital to build models that score video with music and sound effects, according to Variety. Users upload a clip, describe what they want, or both, and Sonilo’s model reads the footage’s pacing and mood to produce a timed soundtrack cleared for commercial use. Sonilo says it trains only on licensed music, with Shutterstock as an early partner, and pays artists and rights holders licensing fees plus a revenue share. The San Francisco company is pitching short-form creators and short-drama studios, and it plans to launch a consumer app this quarter.
