Shopify reported second-quarter revenue of $3.58 billion, up 34% and ahead of the high-twenties growth it had guided to. Net income reached $1.5 billion, or $1.16 a share, against $906 million a year earlier, and gross merchandise volume climbed 32% to $115.57 billion. Shopify then guided to low-thirties revenue growth for the third quarter against analyst consensus near 27%, which sent the stock up 19% in midday trading Wednesday and undid the slowdown fears management had raised with its first-quarter report. President Harley Finkelstein told analysts that traffic and orders reaching merchants through AI have tripled from a year ago, with the earliest gains among smaller sellers.
