Salla, a Saudi platform that sells online storefront software to merchants, acquired Paylink, a Saudi payments firm licensed by SAMA to process e-commerce transactions, for an undisclosed amount. Ammar AlTwaijri and Abdulelah Alsayegh started Paylink in 2017 and built payment infrastructure for companies and merchants inside the kingdom. Salla will fold that infrastructure into its own platform so merchants can take and manage payments online and in stores, and it plans to push harder into point of sale, including SoftPOS, which turns a phone into a card terminal. Paylink also handles cross-border payments in multiple currencies and methods, which Salla wants for merchants selling outside Saudi Arabia.
