Reddit CEO Steve Huffman said Google's AI Overviews still hasn't delivered what organic search links did, writing in a shareholder letter ahead of the second-quarter earnings call, “People don't want a summary of Reddit; they want Reddit.” Huffman said the ten blue links drove growth across the wider ecosystem, but that businesses, publishers, and retailers are still waiting for AI Overviews to produce a comparable win. Reddit said its search traffic has fallen in recent months, and Huffman would not commit to renewing the company's $60 million licensing deal with Google.
