Recursive Superintelligence has committed $410 million to a multi-year AWS deal, most of the $650 million the startup raised when it left stealth in May. The company builds open-ended self-improving AI and routes money that would normally cover staff and operations straight into compute, since it wants its own agents running the research loop. CEO Richard Socher told TechCrunch it's “less about headcount and more about agent count.” Amazon takes no equity, breaking from the hybrid investment-plus-capacity deals larger labs have signed, and AWS startups VP Jason Bennett says the two will jointly build infrastructure designed around companies working this way. Socher expects the agreement to be among the smallest his company signs in coming years, with the first usable products due around October.
