Pie takes an undisclosed investment from Amex Ventures to sell local merchants on AI search visibility and customer acquisition

Pie took an undisclosed investment from American Express's venture capital arm, Amex Ventures, weeks after coming out of stealth in June with a $19.5 million Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The New York company sells small businesses three products, with AI Search working on their visibility inside ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity, Growth buying them customers on Google Maps, Yelp, and Nextdoor, and Front Desk running a voice agent that fields calls and takes bookings. Pie reaches merchants by embedding those tools in the vertical software they already run rather than selling to each one directly, and a new partnership put it inside MoeGo, a platform used by more than 10,000 pet care businesses. Pie runs the same model in auto repair, fitness, and beauty services.
