Paymob, a payments platform serving merchants in Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman, raised a $35 million pre-Series C co-led by Mubadala and the EBRD. The money goes into its merchant gateway, working capital products for small businesses, and rails for agentic commerce, where software agents place the orders. Paymob says revenue tripled across those markets in 18 months while Gulf revenue grew sevenfold, and the Gulf now brings in nearly half the total, after a payments licence from the UAE central bank in January 2025 added some 20,000 merchants in its three Gulf markets. Paymob enables merchants to sign one contract and work off one API and one dashboard covering more than 60 local payment methods, instead of the seven or eight card, BNPL and installment contracts they sign now.
