OpenAI targets enterprise clients to counter Anthropic’s growth

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and top executives are aggressively courting large business customers with a new “one-stop shop” offering designed to unify AI services, aiming to lure clients away from rival Anthropic. Despite OpenAI adding $1 billion in annualized API revenue last month, Anthropic has gained significant ground in the corporate sector with its Claude Code tool and flexible contracts. In response, OpenAI plans to upgrade its coding tool Codex, has reorganized its sales team to bundle products, and aims for 50% of its revenue to come from enterprise clients by the end of the year.
