OpenAI retires GPT-4o and legacy models from ChatGPT

by | Jan 30, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

OpenAI plans to retire GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, and other older models from the ChatGPT interface on February 13. The company cites low usage rates of 0.1% for GPT-4o and notes that recent updates to GPT-5.2 now address user demand for conversational warmth and customization. The change affects only the consumer chat service while API access remains unchanged as the firm focuses on developing less restrictive models for adults.
