OpenAI posted a job listing this week for a head of ads enterprise marketing role tasked with shaping the company's reputation among chief marketing officers, agency executives, and media buyers, and positioning OpenAI as “a premium advertising platform for the world's marketers.” The role includes expanding OpenAI's presence at major industry gatherings like Cannes Lions, CES, and Advertising Week, with the company also hiring a separate head of SMB ads marketing. The hiring spree follows OpenAI poaching longtime Meta exec David Dugan in March to build its ads business and The Trade Desk chief strategy officer Samantha Jacobson joining as VP of partnerships, with OpenAI having tested ads in ChatGPT since February and expanded the program internationally to the UK, Japan, South Korea, and Brazil in May.
