OpenAI is rolling out advertising pilots in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in the coming weeks, with plans for “many more markets” later this year, after reporting encouraging early results from its U.S. pilot including no impact on consumer trust metrics and low ad dismissal rates. The U.S. pilot, which launched in February for Free and Go tier users with early participants including Target, Adobe, Williams-Sonoma, and Albertsons, surpassed $100M in annualized revenue within six weeks and now counts more than 600 advertisers, according to Reuters. Ads remain limited to Free and Go subscription tiers, with Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans staying ad-free.
