OpenAI Chief Communications Officer Hannah Wong announced she will depart in January after five years, during which she managed the company's public image through the launch of ChatGPT and CEO Sam Altman's 2023 ouster. VP of Communications Lindsey Held assumed interim leadership while CMO Kate Rouch initiated an executive search for a permanent replacement. Wong, who joined the lab in 2021 and was promoted to CCO in August 2024, stated she plans to spend time with her family before pursuing her next career chapter.
