Meta updates the Threads API with scheduling upgrades, GIF support, post embedding, and lower follower thresholds for analytics

Meta rolled out significant updates to the Threads API that give social media management platforms more tools to create, schedule, and analyze Threads content, including support for ghost posts, text attachments, GIFs, spoiler tags, and the ability to share Threads posts to Instagram Stories through third-party apps. On the analytics side, Meta lowered the follower threshold for profile discovery from 1,000 to 100, added the ability to search public posts by media type or author username, and introduced new sorting fields for verified users. Developers also gained the ability to embed public Threads posts on external websites without an API access token, and new reply controls including pending reply management and real-time alerts when posts are published or deleted.
