Meta tests product comparisons in Forum’s AI search, pulling Facebook group members’ recommendations on things like running shoes

by | Sep 30, 2026 | Latest E-commerce News & Updates

Meta is testing a comparison mode in Ask, the AI search inside its Facebook Groups app Forum, that gathers what group members have recommended when someone is choosing between options like running shoes or a gift. Ask already surfaces existing posts and comments from a user’s groups and from public groups they haven’t joined, and its home page will now suggest follow-up questions based on recent searches. Separately, Meta is testing a top-voice role across Facebook worldwide and in Forum in the US that replaces contributor badges and the group expert role. Admins can grant it directly, Meta will suggest members who qualify, and those who hold it get their posts published faster.
