Meta indefinitely delays new commercial terms that publishers told EU and UK regulators would hand their content to Meta’s AI

Meta indefinitely delayed new commercial terms that would let it crawl the websites linked to business accounts and use what it finds, and its current terms will stay in place for now. Publishers and advertisers complained to EU and UK competition regulators that the new terms would give Meta unlimited rights to use their content in its AI products, which Meta denies. Meta had already pushed the start date from October 30 to November 20, and it now says it won’t change the terms until it has fully consulted industry groups, a process it expects could run past that date.
