Meta gives developers access to Ray-Ban Display glasses with new mobile and web app SDKs and Neural Band gesture controls

Meta opened its Ray-Ban Display glasses to third-party developers, rolling out two build paths in developer preview: a Meta Wearables Device Access Toolkit native mobile SDK that lets developers extend existing iOS and Android apps to the glasses display using Swift and Kotlin, and a Web Apps path for building standalone experiences from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Meta also gave developers access to the Meta Neural Band, which uses surface electromyography (EMG) to enable gesture controls through subtle finger and hand movements, opening a new interaction model that doesn't rely on touchscreens, voice, or capacitive touch. The display capabilities support text, images, lists, buttons, and video playback, with availability rolling out over the coming weeks.
