Patrik Torstensson, a director of engineering in trust and safety at Meta’s London office, left after nearly four years leading a 120-person team, telling Business Insider he felt like “more of a passenger than a driver” at a company that size. He joined Lovable, a Stockholm-based AI code generation startup, as head of engineering on April 7, drawn by the company’s growth trajectory and the chance to have real ownership over a product. Lovable was valued at $6.6B in December after raising $330M, saw its ARR jump from $300M to $400M in a single month earlier this year, and plans to grow from roughly 146 employees to around 400 this year.
