Meta AI’s public feed is a privacy minefield and emotional mess

by | Jun 14, 2025 | E-commerce News

Meta’s new stand-alone AI chatbot app includes a public “Discover” feed that displays user-submitted chats, and it’s quickly become a chaotic mix of oversharing, confusion, and unsettling vulnerability. While sharing isn’t automatic, many users appear unaware their private conversations, covering topics like grief, custody battles, and personal medical concerns, are viewable by anyone. Some even include phone numbers or real names linked to public profiles. Though Meta claims there’s a multi-step sharing process, the feed suggests otherwise, raising serious questions about design, user awareness, and the platform’s readiness for public deployment.
