Meta acquires Conductor, an app for running multiple AI coding agents at once, and shuts down its cloud service on November 20

Meta acquired Conductor, a startup whose app lets developers run several AI coding agents at once on separate tasks, including Claude Code, OpenAI’s Codex, and Cursor, for undisclosed terms. Conductor’s team will work under chief AI officer Alexandr Wang and Meta Superintelligence Labs product head Nat Friedman, adding to Meta’s push into coding after it released Muse Code, its own coding agent, in August. Existing Conductor users are losing the cloud version, which goes read-only on November 13 and shuts down on November 20, when Conductor will start deleting cloud data. The local app will keep getting model updates and critical fixes through early 2027, after which support ends.
