Marklo, an AI startup from Stella & Dot founder Jessica Herrin that tells Shopify brands what to promote, raises a $5M seed

Marklo, an AI marketing planner for Shopify brands started by Stella & Dot founder Jessica Herrin, raised a $5 million seed round led by Forerunner, according to Mary Ann Azevedo at Crunchbase News. Marklo combines a brand’s Shopify sales and inventory with data from Klaviyo, Attentive, Meta and Google to show which past promotions drove sales, then suggests what to push next based on what’s in stock, competitor promotions and social trends. Herrin said she built it because other AI tools would suggest rerunning a strong Fourth of July promotion without knowing the holiday had passed or the inventory was gone. Marklo has no revenue yet after a pilot with more than 100 brands, including Away and Clare V., and is now opening to all Shopify merchants ahead of the holidays.
