Manus raised more than $500M in a round led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital, its first since Beijing blocked Meta’s roughly $2B acquisition of the AI agent startup. Manus’s parent company, Butterfly Effect, didn’t disclose a valuation, but last month’s reporting on the talks put it at about $4B, double what the founders and early backers paid to buy back Meta’s stake. Since splitting from Meta, Manus has released Manus 2.0 and launched Cue, a standalone app where every personal agent gets a phone number, an email inbox, and a wallet for payments.
