Instagram for TV expands to Samsung Smart TVs across the US and tests interest-based channels, Reels casting, and episodic series for living rooms

Instagram for TV expanded to Samsung Smart TVs across the US, covering 2020 models and newer, which together with Amazon Fire TV and Google TV puts the app on most connected-TV devices in the country. Meta is testing features built around shared living-room viewing, including channels organized by interest like comedy and sports, casting Reels and stories from a phone to the TV, and a dedicated home for horizontal video. The company is also exploring new living-room formats it aims to roll out soon, including longer-form creator content, episodic series that unfold across multiple episodes, and Live on TV for real-time creator experiences. Meta says it's working closely with creators to shape what social video looks like on the big screen as it pushes Instagram further into the territory dominated by YouTube and streaming.
