Google sued a group of unnamed people it says are based in Vietnam for sending phishing emails that posed as Google job interview invitations, filing its complaint Thursday in federal court in Northern California. The emails used Google’s name and colors and linked to a fake version of its job application portal, which asked for a name, email, and phone number and then for a Google username and password to “register” for the interview. Google is seeking damages and an injunction on false advertising and trademark infringement claims, and it expects to learn who the defendants are as the case moves forward.
