Google partners with Sea Ltd to build AI agents for Shopee and Garena

Google and Sea Ltd, a Southeast Asian technology conglomerate, announced a strategic tie-up to develop AI tools for the Shopee e-commerce platform and Garena gaming unit. The companies are jointly building an “agentic shopping prototype” as they are seeking to expand AI capabilities beyond basic chatbots. The collaboration is intensifying competition in the region after rival Alibaba released its own model for the “agentic AI era.”
