Google launches Ask Google Pay, a Gemini chatbot that breaks down UPI spending in 10 Indian languages, alongside an SBI card

Google launched Ask Google Pay in India, an opt-in Gemini chatbot that answers questions about a user's own UPI transaction history rather than making them scroll through it, and it only runs once Personalisation is switched on in the app. The chatbot answers a question about last month's spending with a pie chart by category, plus notes on which categories took the most and where to cut, typed or spoken in 10 Indian languages. Financial jargon gets the same treatment, with the bot unpacking compound interest or the gap between two tax regimes, and it recommends credit cards based on how a user actually spends and what their credit report shows. Google separately launched the Google Pay Flex SBI Card on RuPay rails, its second co-branded card in India after last year's Axis version, moving more lending products inside the app.
