What is GeekSeller?
We offer software to manage inventory, orders, and catalogs across multiple ecommerce marketplaces, including order routing to 3PLs and quantity synchronization across platforms.
Are you funded?
No, we're bootstrapped
Who do you serve?
We primarily serve e-commerce sellers with a presence on marketplaces, particularly on platforms like Amazon and Walmart.
What's standout about GeekSeller?
We prioritize customer support, even assisting non-customers. Being independent and fully bootstrapped, we innovate and decide quickly, focusing on long-term satisfaction and fair pricing.
What's next at GeekSeller?
Paul, a few months ago, you asked me about predictions for 2024, where I mentioned that there would be no major competitor in the US to challenge Amazon and Walmart's dominance. As of April 2024, I still hold this belief, even with the turbulence around new marketplaces offering US consumers cheap options. At GeekSeller, we continue to build solutions that support sellers to grow on Amazon and Walmart, the two marketplaces that we believe will remain the dominant leaders in the long term with the vast majority of the market share.
What's next in your industry?
Logistics and warehousing are undergoing significant changes, particularly in automation and competition. Amazon no longer depends on other carriers and performs better than others in delivering products. I don't see Walmart and Amazon wanting to depend on any third party to deliver packages. Walmart has already responded to Amazon's FBA program by introducing and succeeding with WFS. While there isn't much discussion about this yet, Walmart GoLocal already utilizes a fleet of trucks to deliver items independently. I foresee Amazon and Walmart becoming the new logistics giants with white-label solutions.
What's one thing the public doesn't know about your professional background or founder story that has led you to this point in your career?
If not for Jet.com (thank you, Marc Lore!) and an email from one of our back-then web design customers, GeekSeller would have never existed. I have their email printed and hanging in my office. The email said (paraphrasing), “Daniel, there is this new website Jet.com. We just got approved, but they require using API to publish products and manage orders. Can you do it?.” As it turned out, thousands of sellers needed this, and this is how we got into the business of integrating marketplace APIs.
What's one thing you wish people paid more attention to in the world?
Science and our insignificant place in the universe.
