FundPark, a Hong Kong company that lends working capital to online sellers, lined up as much as $250 million in debt financing from Bain Capital to fund more of those loans. Bain is committing $100 million now, and the remaining $150 million depends on conditions FundPark didn’t spell out. FundPark decides how much to lend and when by reading a merchant’s live sales data instead of relying only on a traditional credit check, and sellers use the money for inventory, marketing, fulfillment, and expansion. The company said it has now lent more than $10 billion in total to over 40,000 online shops, mostly in Asia, since it was founded in 2016.
