The Fulu Foundation, a digital rights group founded by Louis Rossman, is offering over $11,000 to hackers who can modify Ring cameras to store footage locally. The initiative is seeking to eliminate the device’s dependence on Amazon servers and give owners absolute control over their data. Co-founder Kevin O’Reilly emphasized that security requires data ownership as the organization is crowdsourcing funds for the project.
