FTC appeals court ruling in Meta monopolization case

The Federal Trade Commission filed a notice to appeal a district court ruling that favored Meta Platforms in an ongoing antitrust lawsuit. The agency continues to allege that the company illegally maintained a monopoly in personal social networking services by acquiring competitors Instagram and WhatsApp. Bureau of Competition Director Daniel Guarnera stated the Commission will persist in the case to ensure fair competition across the U.S. economy.
