Flipkart has started selling gourmet groceries on Minutes, its quick-commerce app, and launched a private label called Pykd to sit alongside the outside brands, according to Moneycontrol. The range covers imported cheese, speciality coffee, ghee, wood-pressed oils, ramen, chocolate, kombucha, and boba, while Pykd is limited so far to namkeen and chips. Premium goods carry higher prices than staples, which is the point when most large platforms are running average order values between 500 and 700 rupees and are under pressure to show profit. Every major rival is making the same move. Blinkit already runs Gourmet, Zepto is preparing a premium service called Select, Bengaluru’s FirstClub is built around the category, and Swiggy Instamart sells its own Noice label across food and drink.
