eBay added affiliate link creation to its mobile app for Ambassadors and released a Smart Share Chrome extension that enables them to build a link for the page they have open in their browser, instead of having to open the Ambassador portal. eBay launched the Ambassador program in April 2025 as a self-service option for buyers, sellers, and smaller creators, while repositioning its legacy eBay Partner Network program toward managed partners, professional marketers, and publishers using advanced affiliate tools. The new Smart Share tools bring some of the functionality to the Ambassador program that has been available through the Partner Network for several years.
