Crusoe confirmed it sold Google the half-built data center site it had been developing near Cheyenne, Wyoming, for an undisclosed price, according to TechCrunch. Crusoe had tried to sign Google as the project’s customer, but Google questioned how much it would cost and how long Crusoe would take to build it, according to Bloomberg, and Crusoe paused the work in June. Google is now developing the site itself and will put $17 billion into the campus, which Crusoe first announced with Tallgrass last year and planned to scale to 10 gigawatts. The two companies still work together, since Crusoe is building Google a separate data center outside Amarillo, Texas.
