Commerce, the parent company of BigCommerce, announced an integration of PayPal's Store Sync in the BigCommerce App Marketplace and Channel Manager that lets merchants connect product catalogs, inventory, and order management to AI shopping surfaces including Microsoft Copilot, Meta, and Perplexity. PayPal handles checkout, fraud detection, identity verification, buyer protection, and dispute resolution while merchants remain the merchant of record and retain brand identity, customer relationships, and fulfillment, with the app available now to U.S.-based BigCommerce merchants using PayPal for payment processing. Sharon Gee, senior vice president of product for AI at Commerce, said in the announcement that “AI is fundamentally changing how people discover and buy products” and that the integration ensures merchants are “positioned to convert in the environments where commerce is evolving.”
