Cohere signed a letter of intent to acquire Aisle, a startup that uses AI to find previously unknown software vulnerabilities and help fix them, for undisclosed terms. Cohere sells AI models to governments and regulated businesses that want to run them on their own servers, sometimes fully offline, and it says Aisle’s tools would make those deployments more secure. Aisle CEO Ondrej Vlcek, who previously ran antivirus maker Avast, would run a security division called Cohere Cyber that sells those tools to the same customers. Cybersecurity is one of the areas where CEO Aidan Gomez told The Logic last month that Cohere’s models trail OpenAI’s and Anthropic’s.
