Amazon will widen its Prime refund program under a revised order a federal court approved this week, which raises the per-person cap from $51 to $200 and makes every remaining payment automatic, with no claim forms. Eligibility had stopped at people who used under 10 Prime benefits in a year, but now millions who used 11 to 20 qualify, with those payments starting October 1 through Venmo, PayPal, or a mailed check. However, the extra $149 isn’t guaranteed, because it goes out only if accepted payments fall short of the threshold the order sets by February 2027, in which case Amazon starts sending it to earlier recipients by April 2027. Amazon has paid more than $845 million of the $1.5 billion in redress its $2.5 billion FTC settlement required last September.
