Amazon Web Services announced a set of AI-powered productivity tools called Amazon Connect Decisions and Amazon Connect Talent, aimed at logistics workers and recruiters and capable of conducting automated job interviews or generating spreadsheets that forecast product demand. The products, paired with a suite of health applications introduced last month, push Amazon deeper into competition with Microsoft, Oracle, and Salesforce in a software-as-a-service market that Gartner estimates drew roughly $300B in corporate spending in 2025. AWS Chief Marketing Officer Julia White told Bloomberg that the company doesn't have “a big legacy of SaaS or, frankly, a franchise to protect,” allowing it to embrace an “agentic-first approach in a way that is going to be harder for other people.”
