Amazon is following its Melania documentary with a two-episode series on Prime Video about First Lady Melania Trump, premiering November 20 and directed by Brett Ratner, who also made the film. The film covered the 20 days before President Trump’s second inauguration, and the new series picks up from there, following the first lady through her first days in the White House. Amazon paid about $40 million for the film and the series, according to Puck, and Trump reported $10.71 million of that as Melania’s licensing income on his 2025 financial disclosure. The film grossed about $16.6 million worldwide in theaters, but Amazon says its opening was the largest in a decade for a documentary that wasn’t about music.
