Amazon finishes paying out its $50B OpenAI investment, sending the final $35B without waiting for the company to go public

Amazon has paid out the full $50 billion it committed to OpenAI in late February, delivering the last $35 billion in two pieces, $13.7 billion during the second quarter and $21.3 billion since the end of June, according to a securities filing. Only $15 billion went in at signing, with the balance owed once OpenAI either went public or hit unnamed milestones. OpenAI has not listed, and Amazon's filing doesn't say which milestones released the money.
